Private ClassesPrivate Yoga Lessons (Appointments) are a great way to get introduced into yoga or work on specific areas of an existing practice. All of our teachers take the time to consult with you about your expectations and to prepare you for what will be addressed and works on during your session before you ever step through the door. A discussion after the session can also be expected as well as a follow-up email detailing the areas worked on and how you can implement what was learned. Check the Appointments Calendar on our About page for a day and time that work for you and your teacher will be getting a hold of you shortly.
Semi-Private ClassesSemi-Private Yoga Lessons are ideal for 2-3 people who have the same goals in common. This may be beginners, those interested in specific areas like arm balancing or those that just like crowds. Following the same protocol as single private lessons, your teacher will the registering student to discuss group expectations and to provide instructions for their sessions. Afterwards the same follow-up will be provided for overall synthesis of the experience. The available times are the same as well and can be found on the Appointment Calendar in our About Us page. Group ClassesHave a group of friends that want to try or already have a love of yoga? Then group yoga lessons at Ozark Mountain Yoga are the way to go. We can accommodate groups from 4 to 40. This is great for birthdays, bridal showers, team building, any other special event or just because you can! You get all the same great amenities of a private teacher the studio and eco-roof, plus we can coordinate catering with Mama Jean's, Slackline Yoga with Dynamic Earth or any other kind of group activity we may be able to think of. Private, Semi-Private and Group Yoga Lessons at the Ozark Mountain Yoga Studio are an experience! Expect expert attention to your needs before during and after your scheduled appointment. Not only will you have the opportunity to enjoy individualized attention in the studio, but weather permitting you may also be able to experience a privately guided practice on our rooftop eco-deck and be able to meditate or lounge afterwards for as long as you like. The opportunity to carry and continue your bliss to the roof is always available whether you began there or in the studio.
Vinyasa (vi-nyah-sa) Krama (krah-mah)Vinyasa Krama is a Sanskrit term that may be broken down to assist in its translation. Nasa denotes "to place" and vi denotes "in a special way" and Krama denotes "order or sequence" leading to a special place. The most common definition of Vinyasa Krama as related to our practice of yoga is: linking of body movement with breath towards a specific pose or goal. This is the unique style of Ozark Mountain Yoga. We guide you on a journey up to a peak pose and back down by a different path every time with the goal of you eventually climbing that mountain yourself and establishing your own practice.
Hatha (hah-tah) YogaHatha yoga is a branch of yoga that emphasizes physical exercises to master the body along with mind exercises to withdraw it from external objects. The word haṭha literally means "force" in Sanskrit, and may have this association because the early Indians believed that its practice was challenging and "forced its results to happen" on the yogi. The term "Hatha yoga" connotes a system of supplementary physical techniques within the broader concept of Yoga. The Hatha yoga practice emphasizes proper diet, processes to internally purify the body, proper breathing (pranayama) and its regulation particularly during the yoga practice, and the exercise routine consisting of asanas (bodily postures).

We care for our community and each week donate proceeds from this class to Care to Learn. The Community class accommodates a wide range of skill levels from beginners to advanced welcoming everyone to enjoy the gift of Yoga. Working on a balance between strength and flexibility in an accessible Yoga sequencing it incorporates meditative calm while improving your breathing and posture. Sometimes we just need a quiet place to relax and restore. Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures while be guided and usually supported by props like bolsters and blankets. Note that ‘rest’ is different than sleep. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Countless studies have proven the physical and emotional benefits of this type of yoga. A slower, deeper practice where mostly seated positions are held for long periods of time to work restoratively into the muscles, and often includes elements of massage therapy. This combination releases the energy stored deep within the connective tissues of the spine, hips and shoulders and creates space for deeper breath and a quieter mind. The slower pace of this class allows time to modify each posture to best suit your body. These extremely accessible classes are an ideal choice for anyone looking to develop a practice of conscious, mindful movement with some support—from seniors to pregnant women to world-class athletes. Suitable for absolutely everyone, this class emphasizes forms and actions within yoga postures with attention to basic alignment and therapeutic principals. A slower moving practice, traditional standing and seated postures are held in accurate alignment for a manageable amount of time. Not a traditional class, but an opportunity to stop in, ask questions or work on your yoga practice and/or meditation skills. Cultivating an independent Yoga practice is an important aspect of enriching not just our yoga, but everyday lives. Instruction on basic "asana", breathing techniques or just "sitting" quietly is gratefully facilitated upon request. Connecting breath and movement, this dynamic class focuses on the basics while allowing for exploration of deeper aspects of the practice and building heat. Adjusting direction and intensity to facilitate the individuals present it carefully builds energy towards a peak pose and then back down; a wonderful combination of flowing and static postures making it invigorating and when appropriate, introducing more challenging postures including inversions and balancing poses. Combining Yoga sequencing and cardio this class incorporates strength-training moves like squats, lunges and Yoga poses into a fun, energetic, total body workout. Bring a towel and water as the studio is kept at around 82 degrees for this class.Typically starting with a number of Sun Salutation variations to warm up the body, this class links one pose to another taking you up to a challenging peak pose! Using the breath as a guide during practice, it builds heat, strength and endurance to create open channels of vibrant energy. Listen to your body and go at your own pace. Ashtanga (half led primary series)
Ashtanga is a set sequence of classical postures that synchronizes breath with movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. This led half Primary Series class (up to navasana with finishing inversions and backbends) will teach the fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga: ujjayi breath, energy locks, sun salutations, asanas and Vinyasas to prepare the student for development of an established personal practice. Mysore (open studio)
For those with time, stay to continue your Ashtanga practice towards completion of the Primary Series. Mysore is open to all levels, from absolute beginners to more experienced students. The class is not led and all instruction is given on an individual basis, providing direction when requested and allowing you to work on specifics of your practice while deepening your focus and meditation skills.
